1. Who We Are

MakaanPlan ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website makaanplan.com and the MakaanPlan application. We provide AI-powered residential floor plan generation services. For privacy inquiries, contact us at privacy@makaanplan.com.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information: Email address and password when you register.
• Floor plan data: House descriptions, room specifications, and plan configurations you create.
• Chat messages: Conversations you have with the AI architect assistant.
• Payment information: Billing details are collected and processed by LemonSqueezy. We do not store credit card numbers.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the app.
• Device information: Browser type, operating system, and IP address.
• Session data: Authentication tokens stored in your browser's local storage.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the floor plan generation service.
• To process AI requests — your messages are sent to Google Gemini (see Section 5).
• To manage your account, subscription, and billing.
• To send service-related communications (e.g. billing receipts, service updates).
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your floor plan designs for AI model training without explicit consent.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS), which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication tokens use industry-standard JWT with expiry. We apply row-level security policies so each user can only access their own data.

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Gemini (AI): Your chat messages and floor plan requests are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate responses. Google's Privacy Policy applies to data processed by their AI.
• Supabase (Database & Auth): Stores your account, projects, and floor plan data. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
• LemonSqueezy (Payments): Processes subscription payments. See LemonSqueezy Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare (CDN & Hosting): Serves the web application. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Floor plan projects are retained until you delete them or close your account. If you cancel your subscription, you retain access to your projects on the free tier limits.

Upon account deletion, your personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal data.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Export your floor plan data (PDF export available in-app).
• Object to certain processing of your data.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies and browser local storage for authentication session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
