What is MakaanPlan?+
An AI home design studio: design a professional floor plan, and see the whole house around it. Tell it your plot and your family and its AI drafts the house, room by room, or draw your own. Move any wall and the plan re-measures, furnish every room, choose the finishes, and see it as a real house in 3D, from morning light to golden hour. Then share an architect-style, dimensioned floor plan with your builder, family or clients.
Is MakaanPlan a floor planner?+
Yes, and more. You can draw a plan to scale from a blank canvas, as in any floor planner, or let the AI draft a complete, connected house from your brief and edit that. Either way, every edit updates one geometry model, so the 2D plan, the 3D house and the built-in checks always agree: they flag rooms that are too small, rooms that overlap, plot coverage and furniture that does not fit, while you work.
Can I share a professional floor plan?+
Yes. Every design exports an architect-style plan sheet as a PDF or PNG: three chains of dimensions, a room schedule, a title block with the project name, scale and date, a north arrow, and the road side and main entry marked. You can also download a presentation sheet from the 3D view, copy the design as an image, or download the 3D model. Free exports carry a watermark; a paid upgrade removes it and gives full resolution.
Can I see my house in 3D before building?+
Yes. The 3D view is built from your plan, with real doors, windows, gates, furniture and finishes, and you can look at it as a presentation view, a dollhouse, from above or from the street, in morning, noon or evening light.
Can I use it outside Pakistan, for example in the US?+
Yes. Work in feet or metres on any plot size. The AI drafts to the plot and rooms you give it, wherever you are building, and the ready-made plans run from Pakistani plots to an American family home.
Does it replace an architect?+
No. It is the stage before the architect: a believable, dimensioned plan of the house you want, to take to your architect or builder. It does not produce stamped, approved or structural drawings.
Is MakaanPlan free?+
Planning is free, with no time limit and no credit card: ready-made houses, unlimited projects, the full 2D editor, furnishing, the fit checks, the 3D view and up to 2 floors. AI drafts are limited: one a day, up to three a month, on a free account. Exports come out watermarked; the Home Pass, one payment for a home, or Pro for every home, gets you the full-resolution dimensioned PDF, PNG and 3D model.
Do I need an account to start?+
No. You can start designing, and get one AI draft a day, without one. Your design stays in your browser until you create a free account, which saves it to your account and opens the full 3D view.
Do I need design or architecture experience?+
No. Answer a few questions and the AI drafts a plan, or start from a ready-made one. You then move walls, resize rooms and place doors, windows and furniture with plain editing tools; no CAD experience is needed.
Can my architect work from the plan?+
Yes, as the starting point. Every plan carries room dimensions, wall thickness and door and window positions, on a dimensioned PDF you can share directly. Your architect turns it into the drawings you build from; MakaanPlan does not make approved or structural drawings.
Does it support houses with more than one floor?+
Yes. Add floors and link them with a staircase in the Studio: up to 2 floors free, and up to 5 with the Home Pass or Pro.
